What’s the difference between online and mobile banking?

Online banking is accessed via the Great Southern Bank website and is designed for use on a desktop or laptop computer. To get started, click 'Login' at the top of the page.

Mobile banking is a term sometimes used to describe our mobile banking app. If you have a smartphone, you can download the app and do your banking on your phone, anywhere and at any time.

How do I get the mobile banking app?

You can download the mobile banking app via the Apple App store or Google Play.

Who is Great Southern Bank?

Great Southern Bank is the trading name of Credit Union Australia Limited. You may have previously known us as CUA.

For over 75 years we’ve helped our customers manage their money. We do this by providing clever products and smart tools that help you reach your financial goals sooner. Plus, being customer-owned means that our profits go back into our products and services, not shareholders.

We love helping people reach their financial goals and we can’t wait to help you reach yours, whatever they may be. Contact us to get started, we're here to help!

Am I protected against fraudulent transactions?

When you take the necessary steps to stay safe online and protect your device from theft, you're covered for fraudulent transactions under the ePayments Code for digital banking.

For more information about the ePayments code, please see section 10 of the Terms & Conditions.

While we take proactive steps to fight fraud, there are many steps you can take to help us stop fraudsters and stop scammers in their tracks. Check out our online security checklist and dedicated scams hub for loads of practical tips and information.

How can I keep track of my account activity?

You can set up SMS notifications to let you know when there’s been activity on your account. This includes an SMS when:

  • Your account is running low on funds.
  • Your card has been used.
  • A scheduled transfer or bill has been paid.
  • Your password has been changed.
  • When you’ve been paid, and much more.

You can set up notifications in online banking and pick and choose which notifications you’d like.
