Great Southern Bank has just signed on as a new Co-Major partner of Carlton Football Club, in a move that will see the company’s new logo emblazoned on front of the Club’s away guernsey and on the back of the home guernsey from Round 14.

Great Southern Bank (formerly CUA) Australia’s largest customer-owned bank, this week changed its name as part of a renewed focus to help all Australians to own their own home.

“Our relationship with the Carlton Football Club over the past three years has been extremely successful, and we know that this a great way to showcase our newly branded bank to millions of potential new customers,” says Great Southern Bank Chief Executive Officer Paul Lewis.

Great Southern Bank and Carlton Football Club have much in common, both steeped in history and with a proud member heritage.

The 75-year-old Great Southern Bank first became a Carlton sponsor in 2018 and will now join Hyundai in providing the highest level of support to the Club for at least the next three years.

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the commitment and desire of Great Southern Bank to strengthen its ties as a partner was an important and exciting outcome for the Club.

“Great Southern Bank is taking its business and brand to a new level,” Liddle said. “We’re delighted to be part of their next chapter as Great Southern Bank, with a brand-new look, and with the same purpose-led strategy of helping all Australians own their own home.”

As of today, the Great Southern Bank logo will appear on the Club’s media backdrop, changeroom signage, digital Club communications and game-day activations. The new logo will also appear on all retail club apparel from 2022.

“This sponsorship has already raised our profile and grown our business and, now we have just changed our name to Great Southern Bank, this is even more important. Not only does this sponsorship further connect us to the entire Carlton Football Club family of members, supporters and key stakeholders, it provides us the opportunity to launch our new brand to millions nationally.”

Victoria is a key growth market for Great Southern Bank and already accounts for 21 per cent of its loan portfolio.
